A short two weeks until opening night! The cast is working very hard in rehearsals. Sets are in...It is FANTASTIC! We are hoping to FILL THE HOUSE! You don't want to miss this Original Production. SET MOVE-IN. From Garage to stage.

Today the sets went from my garage to the stage. For the first time the actors got to rehearse with the major set pieces. (there's more to come.)  Scroll to see the sets coming together and then becoming the backdrop to this great cast. I designed the sets so that most pieces turn around to become something else. Lots of fun to watch!

"Page to Stage" School Tour

Tomorrow I begin visiting local schools to present my "THE BOOK and BEYOND" program. I'll share with the students where ideas for my books come from and how one tiny idea from my own childhood experience turned into a book and then, a play. Every student is a writer and creator. I hope I am able to instill in these bright wide-eyed children that their everyday experiences can turn into their own stories.  I want them to dream big, realize that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. 

Within the next few weeks I'll be visiting, Birch Hill, Broad St, Sunset and Charlotte Schools in Nashua,  Clarke, Wilkins and AMS in Amherst and Village School in Mont Vernon.

Princess K.I.M. The Musical is moving along...the cast is working hard in rehearsals under the guidance of Director, of Toby Tarnow. The pace will pick up as we prepare to enter the theater for rehearsals.

In the meantime, I am busy painting the sets. Below are some details of the Town Scene. Being 100% Italian, I HAD to include an Italian Market! My painting style matches the illustration style of my books in which I outlined everything with a purple line. My goal is to make the audience feel as if they are walking onto my children's book. As a children's book artist I am used to working small....book size. This is quite a change for me and I'm loving it.

Meet More of the Cast

Hi - I'm KIM. I already introduced you to the actresses who are playing KIM (me!) and my Grandma on stage. Here's two other people who are special to me... My Dad and Mrs. Della, my teacher.

MY DAD!

Some people say my dad is plain and boring...but actually- he's pretty cool. Here is the actor who is playing my Dad on stage. Doesn't he look snazzy in his tie?

"Hi, I am Kevin Linkroum and I've been acting in both musicals and plays for about 6 years.  Performing in Princess KIM will really be a dream come true as I've always wanted to be in an original show and help bring to life an original character!"

Thankfully, this year I got a really nice teacher...her name is Mrs. Della (And she is SO pretty).  

I'd like to introduce you to the actress who is playing Mrs. Della on stage. She's pretty too!

"Hi- I'm Megan Dillon and I am Mrs. Della in Princess K.I.M. the Musical. I am a rising sophomore at Souhegan High School. I am very excited to be part of this musical and to work with new people!"
